Vestibular Neuritis
A condition that can cause severe dizziness that often lasts for many weeks, but which can be improved through appropriate treatment.
Vestibular Migraine
An often under-recognized cause of recurrent dizziness in many people. Symptoms can often be markedly improved with appropraite recognition and management
BPPV
Often called "vertigo", and with the proper name of Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo, this is a very common condition that causes recurrent bouts of dizziness. It can be treated by manual therapies.
Optic Neuropathies
Disorders that cause visual loss by affecting the nerve that connects our eyes to our brain. Our doctors can help to determine the cause and appropriate treatment.
Double Vision
A problem of the two eyes not being aligned, causing people to see double when both eyes are open. We can help determine the cause and recommend treatment options.
Ataxia
A problem of incoordination and balance, often due to a problem with the brain's balance center.
Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension
An increasingly common disorder that predominantly affects young women - causing headaches, visual loss, and double vision. Can be treated through a combination of diet, exercise, and medications.
Eye Movement Problems
Sometimes the eyes have difficulty coordinating their movements or have excess movement. This can be an independent issue or occur as part of a larger issue.
Nystagmus
A specific type of eye movement problem where the eyes tend to oscillate back and forth. This can be benign or can be a sign of other problems, including dizziness, ataxia, and many others.
Visual Disturbances
Many visual issues do not originate in the eye, but rather in the connection between the eyes and the brain, often with a completely normal appearing ocular / eye exam.
