Alternacare Inc., Quantum's healthcare division, is urgently looking for a Director of Care for a retirement residence in Gatineau.
If you are an RPN or RN and have what it takes to be a Director of Care, we want to hear from you!
- Salary range is $50 000 to $55 000 annually
- Benefits come into effect on start date
- Attractive annual bonus
Some responsibilities associated with the Director of Care position would include:
- Communicates with staff, residents, residents’ family, doctors and other healthcare providers to ensure continuity of care for residents.
- Plans and establishes objectives related to nursing care, human, financial and technical resources.
- Supervises the work of nursing staff and oversees the allocation of tasks based on employees respective qualifications.
- Oversees the management of human resources within the department in accordance with policies.
- Prepares the annual budget with the General Manager and recommends organizational or operational resources required to respond to demand and maintain the quality of services.
- Plans, directs and participates in development of new services.
- Prepares and presents the reports required by management for monitoring and control purposes.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree or college diploma in nursing
- A member, in good standing, of the Ordre des infirmiers et infirmières du Québec
- 5 to 10 years of experience in geriatrics, including 2 to 3 years in a management position
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required
- Able to progress in fast changing environment
- Able to bear a certain level of stress
- Able to mobilize and work as a team
